Ambler Area Running Club

Welcoming runners of all abilities.


Thank you for supporting AARC and the local running activities we provide, and for supporting our race beneficiaries. Over the past 10 years we have raised over $250,000 for these and other local nonprofit organizations.

2021  Do Better 4 Steve works with teachers, social workers and community leaders to financially aid in things such as, but not limited to:

Learning devices for disabled students, Summer camp attendanceMusic lessons or instrumentsChild Care ServicesLearning Services Tutoring including college preparatory servicesYMCA program attendance

All assistance is anonymously provided to preserve the dignity of the children and families they help. Besides helping those in need, they hope to inspire children to grow up to be empathetic members of society who will

 2021 The Salvation Army Children's Services: Foster Care & Adoption Program helps connect children with safe, loving homes and families. They offer a variety of foster care and adoption services as well as ongoing training, support services and enrichment activities to help kids from hard places thrive.

Their HALO Project 10-week intensive therapy program helps bring healing to foster and adoptive families struggling with the impacts of childhood trauma.

Although The Salvation Army is a large organization, their Foster Care & Adoption Program is small in size, which allows them to get to know each family personally so they can meet their needs at a higher level and give each child

 The Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard offers food, clothing, employment assistance/job help/resume building, medical referrals, housing referrals and emergency financial assistance. We are open 5 days a week from 9am to 2pm Monday through Friday with food and clothing distributions held on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association (WVWA) is dedicated to protecting the health and beauty of the Wissahickon Creek and enhancing life within the watershed by preserving open space, promoting wise land use and educating the public about environmental issues.

  Dan’s Voice was founded in loving memory of Dan Rich, who lost his voice and ultimately his life to laryngeal/esophageal cancer in 2013.  Dan's Voice is currently in the process of raising $50,000 to purchase a video endoscope for Fox Chase Cancer Center.

  We are the largest and most comprehensive meal delivery program in the five county Greater Philadelphia region through our network of volunteers and coordinators. Our meals and outreach services are provided free of charge, enabling those served to conserve their limited fixed-incomes for their other necessities and living expenses. 
2018    Weavers Way is a cooperative food market open to the public. Our mission as a co-op is to provide high-quality, fairly priced foods and a broader understanding of their importance to our members and community. We have an ongoing commitment to serve and forge a bond between local sustainable food producers and the co-op community.
2017    Our organization works with children, families, community groups, environmental and educational institutions to encourage awareness, and the creation of sustainable local food systems by offering educational programs and a community supported agriculture demonstration project.

  Play and Learn is the largest non-profit child care organization in Montgomery County, serving 1,500+ families.
2016   The Montgomery County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a nonprofit organization dedicated to caring for unwanted, lost and abused domestic animals.

  The Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund provides education, advocacy, information and financial assistance for the uninsured needs of families caring for seriously ill and physically challenged children.

We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
 2014   Founded in 1924, FOW is a 2,000-member nonprofit organization that works in partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation to restore historical park structures, eliminate invasive plant species, monitor watershed management issues, and restore trails throughout Wissahickon Valley Park. 
2014   The North Penn Valley Boys & Girls Club serves nearly 4,000 children and teens between the ages of 6 and 18 each year at two facilities: The North Penn Valley Club in Lansdale, and the Indian Valley Club in Souderton. We promise a safe, welcoming, supportive, and positive environment, which is open to all children and teens.
 2011   The organization provides and promotes a suitable place for artists (and others) to live and work, for patrons to visit and have a good time, and for shop owners to provide the goods and services that make it all happen.

Ambler Main Street, a non-profit organization involving more than 100 volunteers, is dedicated to making "Downtown Ambler" a social, cultural and business center for Ambler & the surrounding areas including Upper Dublin, Lower Gwynedd & Whitpain.

The Quaker School at Horsham is a compassionate community that builds trusting relationships among students, parents, therapists, faculty and staff.

The mission of the Senior Adult Activities Center of Montgomery County (Montco SAAC) is to involve, enrich and empower adults 50 years of age or better to live as independently as possible in our communities.

The Ambler Theater is located at 108 E. Butler Ave in Ambler, PA and is a nonprofit, community-based movie theater that specializes in independent, art, and foreign films. In addition to our regular programming, a variety of special events ranging from Saturday Kid's Matinees to classic Hollywood films. We regularly present local filmmakers and host discussion groups and lectures.

Embracing Jewish traditions and values since 1948, Golden Slipper Camp, a not-for-profit overnight camp located in the Pocono Mountains, enriches the lives of children and young adults from varied backgrounds.

The Wissahickon Fire Company protects a population of 17,500 residents in an area of 10 square miles in central Montgomery County, PA. The Company was chartered on April 7, 1891 to protect the residents, businesses and visitors of Ambler, Lower Gwynedd and surrounding communities.
 
In addition to the financial support AARC contributes to these important community organizations, we provide annual scholarships to male and female graduating students at each of four local high schools: Upper Dublin, Wissahickon, Horsham, and North Penn. We also support other running events by schools, YMCA's, and other non-profit organizations.
